Shrine Mosque

The Shrine Auditorium is one of the most distinctive venues in Springfield, Missouri. We’re all familiar with the Shriners of course, an organization dedicated to public service. The Shriners of Springfield are a large and active group and in 1923 they constructed a building that stands out from every other building in Springfield. Besides a meeting hall, Shrine Mosque contains an auditorium with seating for over 4,000 people. When it opened the Shrine Mosque Auditorium was one of the largest capacity auditoriums in the West.

With its large seating capacity and excellent stage facilities the Shrine Mosque Auditorium got plenty of use. Besides the famous Shrine Circus, the Auditotium has been used for everything from roller skating to Presidential speeches. There have also been an impressive number of concerts with everyone from John Philip Sousa to Elvis Presley appearing on stage.
