The Missouri Recital Hall seats 150 audience members with a stage space of 32 X 30. The Center for the Arts houses a nine-foot Steinway grand and an Allen electronic organ which can be used in both performance spaces. The Recital Hall is used for music performances, speeches, award presentations, and symposia. The Humanity Division's Foreign Film Series is shown in the Recital Hall.
The Haidee and Allen Wild Center for the Arts, which opened February 1990, houses two performance spaces and the P.E.O. Foundation Art Gallery. All campus performances and gallery exhibits are open to the public and are free to Cottey College students and employees. The College brings performers and speakers to the campus through its Cottey Lecturers and Artists Super Series (CLASS). Recent events sponsored by CLASS have included the Missouri State Ballet, Alvin Ailey Repertory Ensemble, The Kansas City Symphony, John Amos in Halley's Comet, and Tin Roof Tango. The Cottey College Faculty Artist Series gives the campus and surrounding communities the opportunity to see our talented and professionally active faculty perform. The Fine Arts Division affords numerous performance opportunities to its students. The Chamber Music Ensemble, Cantabile and Chamber Singers, as well as individual graduating sophomore music recitals are given in the Recital Hall. The theatre department presents six productions each year in the Auditorium. The dance department in addition to its touring and informal performances in Hinkhouse Gymnasium, presents a spring concert in the Auditorium.
