Teaching in Ten

Looking for a new career opportunity, or an additional revenue stream? "Teaching in 10" is an introduction to effective teaching designed to encourage subject matter experts (in any field) to consider employment opportunities that use their expertise in the college classroom.
 
Participants are actively involved in the session using the Teaching in 10 "cheat-sheet" that includes 10 essential steps along with do's and don'ts for effective teaching. The know-how results in a better understanding about the art and science of teaching, and the process is demystified. The goal of this workshop is for an informed decision to be made by participants about college teaching (or not).
 
About Joy:   Joy Vann-Hamilton is the founder and Chief Educational Officer of Cum Laude Educational Consultants (CLEC), an educational search, training and consulting company in Lee’s Summit, MO. Joy has over 20 years of experience in higher education, across all sectors, from admissions to instruction (on-ground and online) to serving as an Assistant Provost at the University of Notre Dame. Joy’s business endeavors are complemented by her academic background as a Ph.D. candidate in Curriculum and Instruction as well as an MBA and a BA in Psychology.

If New Landings has an event scheduled on a day that the Olathe schools are closed for inclement weather, the New Landings event will also be cancelled.
